School Social Worker Homeless Education Program – Three positions Foster Youth Unit – Two positions Attendance- Two positions Family Resource Centers- Three positions Annual Salary Range: $78,696-$117,920 Traditional 197 Day Calendar LBUSD Student Support Services Division is accepting applications for the position of Social Worker. Long Beach Unified School District is the fourth largest district in the State of California, serving a diverse student population. The School Social Worker works to promote academic achievement and lifelong success for students by actively addressing barriers to learning within the child, home, school, and community systems through the provision of specialized services. The School Social Worker (SSW) The SSW is responsible for oversight of the case management system to provide quality services to foster youth or students experiencing homelessness, including, but not limited to: working directly with families and students to provide direct support, home/ on-site visits, ensure that credits are issued as required by law, conduct best interest determination meetings to ensure school stability, provide and/or connect students with social emotional support, mental health or academic counseling, mentoring and referrals to social services agencies; serve and track services; work with community organizations to access resources for students and families; develop and deliver professional development sessions; create written resource materials for school personnel, students and families. The SSW will also serve as an internship supervisors, which will oversee School Social Work Interns annually.
