Head Boys Football Coach for Mt. Carmel High School (Stipend Position) at Poway Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
• Experience with high school and/or higher level of coaching experience in the sport including knowledge of coaching techniques, rules and regulations, and psychology as it relates to sports participation • A demonstrated ability to engage in positive relationships between student athletes, coaches and parents. • A demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes and a commitment to holding all adults associated with the program to that same standard. • Engage in experiences that allow for student-athletes to develop and demonstrate leadership skills. • Engage in learning and skill development that supports all student-athletes in fulfilling their potential. • A demonstrated ability to follow chain of command, instructions and directions as directed by school administrators. • Experience in cooperative working relationships with parents and athletic booster clubs. • Knowledge of and commitment to comply with the CIF Code of ethical Conduct for Athletic team coaches. • A demonstrated ability to meet timelines and time requirements as directed by the administration. Essential Duties: • Instruct student-athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and technique of the specific sport • Supervise players during practice and competition • Evaluate players’ skills and maintain fairness to all student-athletes • Collaborate with coaching staff to determine game strategy and practice plans • Maintain student-athlete roster and submit list as directed • Follow established procedures and protocols in the event of an athlete’s injury or other emergency • Model good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, parents, officials, spectators and school staff • Maintain equipment, facilities, and playing field in orderly condition • Distribute and collect equipment, supplies, and uniforms to student-athletes as directed • Attend regular school and sports
