We are searching for an experienced Culinary Arts 121 - Basic Baking & Pastry at our Santa Maria Campus facility.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

CULINARY ARTS 121 - BASIC BAKING & PASTRY

 

Allan Hancock College is accepting applications to establish a pool of qualified candidates for part-time Culinary Arts 121 instructors for the fall 2021 semester.

 

The class is scheduled for Monday mornings and early afternoons.

 

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in Culinary Arts (baking focus), plus at least five years' experience in the industry. Course covers equipment, skills and procedures used in commercial bakeries. Includes practical application in the production of a wide variety of quick and yeast breads and cookies.

 

SALARY:

 

• Lecture Rate: $48.00 to $73.50 per hour depending upon education and experience

 

• Lab Rate: $41.80 to $64.00 per hour depending upon education and experience

 

• Activity and Non-Classroom Rate: $30.89 to $48.21 per hour depending upon education and experience

 

In its desire to select outstanding faculty members from the largest possible pool of qualified applicants, Allan Hancock College recognizes candidates may have attained expertise in a discipline through a variety of means. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be judged by the district as equal to the stated minimum qualifications for this position. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications are encouraged to complete the equivalency form and provide appropriate documentation of their qualifications.

A committee will screen all applications. Meeting minimum qualifications does not assure a candidate an interview. Therefore, it is important that the application be thorough and detailed. Applicants will be assessed on the breadth and depth of education, training, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities. A limited number of applicants will be invited for an interview. Required Qualifications:

 

EDUCATION:

 

Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience

 

OR

 

Any associate degree and six years of professional experience. The professional experience must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.

 

OR

 

the equivalent per Board Policy 7211.

 

Special Qualification:

 

Evidence of a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students, and to staff and students with disabilities.
