THE POSITION: The Coordinator II, History-Social Science shall organize and conduct professional development and technical assistance to K-12 classroom teachers and administrators to support implementation of the 2016 California History-Social Science Framework with a special emphasis on implementing high quality civic learning programming for all students; participate in the development of strategic operational plans and program activities; assist in the coordination of the project budget development plan and implement strategies to ensure budgetary compliance; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: • Three or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive educational leadership and/or administration experience, including three years of professional development experience in the field of instruction for civic learning and history-social science. • Five or more years of teaching History-Social Science in a classroom setting. Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council of Postsecondary Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: Must possess and maintain a valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in the field of History-Social Science, and a valid Administrative Services Credential.
