A Registrar prepares, maintains, and monitors the permanent school records of high school students; reviews, evaluates and records course credits and grades earned; and confers with counselors, administrators, faculty, students and parents regarding graduation requirements.

Examination process: Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in the following examinations:
Performance exam, weight: 30% and Qualifications Appraisal Interview, weight: 70%, scheduled when posting closes. Please note, this may change due to the COVID-19 situation.
The competitive basis for this recruitment is open/promotional. Candidates who pass all exams and are not currently employed by our District are placed on an open eligibility list. Candidates currently employed by our District who pass all exams are placed on a promotional eligibility list. Candidates are placed on one of these lists in order of their overall exam score. When fewer than three ranks exist on the promotional list, candidates from the open list will be considered.
If a candidate has taken the multiple choice and/or performance test for this San Dieguito Union High School District job title or similar job title within the past two years, candidate may be able to transfer the scores to this recruitment. The exam must be sufficiently similar, as determined by the Director, Classified Personnel. Prior to the application deadline, a request to transfer score(s) should be e-mailed to: barbara.bass@sduhsd.net. Transferring of exam scores does not apply to the Qualifications Appraisal Interview.
Veterans may be eligible for preference points on examinations. Attach a DD214 copy to your application.
Employment with SDUHSD is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance. Please note that our agency receives federal funding and must adhere to federal regulations; results which indicate marijuana use will be considered non-passing.
Probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service, whichever is longer. Management employees serve a probationary period of one year.
