The Position:
Under general supervision, provides special education services to students identified as disable in accordance with state and federal regulations. Work involves developing and implementing the Individual Education Program (IEP) in classroom settings that are compatible with the student’s age and developmental level. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans, adapting materials and designing activities to assist special education students develop appropriate academic, behavior and social skills and to meet their IEP goals. The teacher is responsible for monitoring student’s progress and for maintaining special education records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must either have or have the ability to attain appropriate Arizona Certification.

Salome High School is a small rural school that covers over 3,800 square miles in Western Arizona. We are located about 60 miles west of the Greater Phoenix Area and about 60 miles from the Arizona/California border. Teaching in a small school like Salome, you are able to teach to your passions in your classroom. Class sizes are relatively small, and as long as you are teaching to the standards, you will have flexibility in what you teach and how you teach it.
