Job Summary
Character Education Development and Outreach Department focus on the character development of each individual student as we teach students important moral values such as respect, thankfulness, compassion, tolerance, etc. This curriculum specialist/training assistant must collaborate with public school educators as well as Tzu Chi volunteers across the U.S. The ideal candidate for this position is a clear communicator with experience in teaching, curriculum development, and a team player who can assist in training programs. This position will be expected to perform such specific duties and responsibilities as are related to this position and any additional duties hereafter assigned. In particular, your duties will include: •Teach character education classes to multiple grades at different schools. •Attend lesson plan design sessions and create thoroughly written lesson plans and teaching materials/manipulatives independently. •Assist in reviewing and editing character education lesson plans. •Assist in training programs; responsibilities include coordinate training logistics, materials, and teaching training classes/workshops. •Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of character education programs and any related concepts, laws, research, and programs. •Support education conferences and camps in different regions within the U.S. •Assist Tzu Chi schools with understanding and implementing character education lesson plans. •Provide data and appropriate reports to CE Director in a timely manner. •Support the CE team and its team members such as teachers, staff, and volunteers, in the development and maintenance of character education lesson plans, lesson outlines, and lesson mapping. •Model and maintain high standards of professional and Tzu Chi code of conduct.

Plan and develop prototypes of instructional materials that promote Tzu Chi’s educational mission.
Maintain quality standards in the production of instructional materials.
Assist in planning, developing, and implementing instructional materials and curriculum.
Assist in planning, organizing and collaborating educational training secessions for teachers, staffs, volunteers, and students.
Develop, collect and analyze evaluations and assessments for different age groups.
Demonstrate group work skills and ability to train others.
Attends and participates in staff meetings to provide input towards program development and staff training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
