Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Full Time Temporary Library Science Instructor (Librarian). This is an 11 month tenure-track faculty position. The ideal candidate is student-oriented in their approach and dedicated to student success and will be skilled in generating student engagement in learning and creating a welcoming and equity-based learning environment. Faculty librarians are responsible for the planning, organization and coordination of the District Libraries. They ensure the quality of the library and its collections effectively meet the needs of the college community. Librarians are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Work assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, and multi-campus hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree in library science, or library and information science; OR 2. The Equivalent; AND 3. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use digital resources (such as LibGuides, LibChat), library automation systems, and other relevant technology in a library environment, including analytics (ExLibris library services platform) 2. Recent library experience providing reference services and library instruction, preferably within an academic setting. Collection development and basic cataloging are helpful. 3. Demonstrated ability to conduct library orientations and workshops online and in person 4. Evidence of a strong commitment to innovation and currency in Library Science 5. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse environment that encourages positive race and gender-consciousness and embraces human difference
