Candidates need only apply once; all applications will be screened for the minimum requirements at the highest level they are qualified for. Applicants who are successful in the examination process will be placed on the appropriate Pre-Qualified Pool List(s) for a duration of 2 YEARS. Once on a list, pre-qualified candidates will be required to express interest in our site-specific job postings as they are announced, by applying online. If your prequalification is scheduled to expire within a year, this is your opportunity to extend your prequalification status without interruption. The School Clerk II will be paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule. Salary Grade: 30 ($19.73 - $23.99).
School Clerk I Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to one year of recent, full-time equivalent, paid office-clerical experience. One school year (ten full-time equivalent months) is acceptable. School Clerk II Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to two years of recent, full-time equivalent, paid increasingly responsible office-clerical experience. Two school years (twenty full-time equivalent months) are acceptable. Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private vehicles may be required for designated positions (mileage expense allowance provided). LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: *School Clerk I requires that incumbents be skilled in typing/keyboarding at a minimum of 25 words per minute. *School Clerk II requires that incumbents be skilled in typing/keyboarding at a minimum of 40 words per minute. (*) Due to the current COVID situation, at this time, a typing certificate is not required and a typing test will not be given. Applicants must certify in writing that they have such skills. Demonstrated proficiency will be expected during the probationary period for the class.
