JOB TITLE: School Data Technician II

Job Purpose Statement/s: The job of "School Data Technician II" is done for the purpose/s of performing complex data entry; preparing and maintaining documentation at the middle schools.

Essential Job Functions:

* Prepares and maintains documents (e.g. test scores, student records, grades, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties

* Assists the school administration and staff for the purpose of providing technical support and information

* Processes student information data for the purpose of providing current and accurate documents.

* Develops documents (e.g. specially designed reports) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, state agencies, and the public.

Other Job Functions:

* Supervises student workers for the purpose of ensuring appropriate class credit and/or learning experience

* Participates in various activities (e.g. meetings, training, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying information

Job Requirements - Qualifications:

* Experience Required:

Prior Job related experience preferred

* Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:

Skill to operate standard office equipment including use of basic computer applications, use English in both written and verbal form, use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation; communicate effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and the public.

Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.

Ability to sit for prolonged periods, work independently, prioritize duties and keep accurate records; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; interact with persons of different age groups and cultural backgrounds. Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling, lifting/pulling/pushing, talking/hearing conversations, and other sounds, near/far visual acuity/depth perception/visual accommodation/field of vision.

* Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:

Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, Health Physical Testing/Clearance, Tuberculosis Testing/Clearance.

This position is located at San Marcos Middle School Employees new to the District are allowed salary schedule placement credit for up to two (2) years of previous experience with a maximum salary schedule entry placement for step three (3).
