Helix has served its community as a traditional public high school from 1951 - 1996, then as a public charter school from 1998 to present. Helix was the first public comprehensive high school in California to convert to a charter high school, and while much about the educational program has changed to best serve the student population, the tradition of the school has remained. Job Summary

The ASPIRE Lead Tutor for the HUB position is affiliated with the ASPIRE After-School Program at Helix Charter High School. The after-school program allows all students to attend this program for free. The Lead HUB Tutor will meet with students weekly and scaffold instruction to meet a variety of levels in multiple subject areas. This person should be able to facilitate a studious environment where students who are struggling academically can obtain the academic support they need in a particular subject. The position is for 4 hours a week currently, and this can change depending on student attendance. The Lead Tutor will be able to have input on their weekly schedule, and this position pays $30/hour.
