Job Description: Gindi Maimonides Academy is seeking a dynamic full time social studies instructor, preferably with previous middle school teaching experience to be a part of thriving and growing humanities department. A passion for teaching middle school students and understanding their academic and emotional development is a priority. The new history teacher will lead the Maimonides middle school history team in curriculum design, instruction, student relations, grading, and all other required duties of a classroom teacher. Responsibilities:
• Plan and teach history in grades 6 - 8
• Refine and adjust the current curriculum as needed
• Differentiate for individual students based on their unique needs so all students are appropriately engaged
• Incorporate multiple techniques of instruction, including discussion, hands-on and creative activities, independent writing assignments, and the use of all appropriate visual aids
• Plan and coordinate class field trips and class speaking engagements when appropriate
• Plan, coordinate, and lead Model UN
• Create a classroom environment of respect that encourages students to take risks and strive to reach goals
• Communicate and enforce high expectations and standards for behavior and performance
• Initiate and maintain timely and consistent communication with parents
• Collaborate with colleagues
Hours:
Teaching is in person on campus 7:45 - 4:30 Monday - Thursday, 7:45 - 2:30 Friday
Salary: $50,000.00 to $75,000.00/ year
