Summary/General Description of Job: Develops and manages a disability program with a center wide focus, while also dedicating time and resources to maintain and promote advanced career training opportunities to students. Essential Duties & Job Functions: • Provides individualized and coordinated services to all students with disabilities. • Ensures equal opportunity for all students, including those with disabilities. • Ensures all policy and legal requirements related to serving students with disabilities are met. • Ensures access for students with disabilities that focus on employability and independent living. • Ensures that all required Disability Program components are implemented, monitored, and maintained in an effective manner. • Promotes disability awareness by placing disability-related posters and awareness materials on center. • Coordinates the Center's Reasonable Accommodation Process in accordance with the reasonable accommodation SOP. • Develop, maintain, evaluate and update all SOPs in departmental areas of disability and ACT as needed. • Meets with all new students a variety of times during orientation to discuss the center's disability program and the reasonable accommodation process. • Provides new students with The Reasonable Accommodation brochure. • Coordinates with safety staff, facilities staff, and managers in all departments to ensure the center's accessibility plan is reviewed and updated annually. • Provides annual training to all staff on the Disability Program to ensure staff are aware of the process to document a referral when a student discloses a disability and may want/decline reasonable accommodation. • Enters disability data and reasonable accommodation plans in CIS for all students with educational/IEP, medical, mental or health disabilities as soon as possible after a student's arrival on Center upon receipt of documented disability. • Participates in career preparation period curricula and career trans
Requirements / Qualifications
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory • Associates degree in related field. • One (1) year related experience. • Valid California Driver’s License, with an acceptable driving record. • Successfully pass background check and drug test.
