Job Summary

La Cañada Unified School District has openings for special education RSP teachers in both the elementary and secondary levels for the 2021 extended school year program. Instruction is to be delivered in-person on the school campus. If, however, schools are required to close during the time period set for summer school, classes will continue through online instruction. The list of expected positions is as follows: • Three Positions: Elementary RSP, grades 1-6, Paradise Canyon Elementary School, 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. plus 0.5 hours of prep • Two Positions: Secondary RSP, grades 7-9 or 10-12, La Cañada High School, 7:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. plus 0.5 hours of prep

Requirements / Qualifications

Application Deadline: 12 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2021 Qualifications: 1. Credential: Valid California teaching credential in special education (mild/moderate or moderate/severe), including a certification to teach English Language Learner students. Older special education credentials are acceptable if the candidate holds an additional RSP authorization. 2. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Work Time: 23 days, June 15 through July 16, 2021. Monday, July 5th will be observed as a holiday. Teachers will be contracted for the daily instructional time plus an additional 0.5 hours of prep per day.

Comments and Other Information

Salary Range: The hourly rate for a certificated summer school teacher is $55.39. Timesheets will be turned in on June 30 and July 16, 2021. Paychecks will be issued on July 2 and August 5, 2021. This position is not eligible for benefits.
