Assistant Athletic Trainer The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in providing a comprehensive athletic health care program for the school. The position is part-time for 20-25 hours per week. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is supervised by the Head Athletic Trainer and is formally accountable to the Athletic Directors. Responsibilities 1. Provide athletic training services (injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation) for NDHS student-athletes including practices, home, and away contests . Coverage is Monday through Saturday. 2. Ensure that all COVID-19 protocols are followed by athletic training staff, coaches, and athletes. 3. Work with all coaches to provide athletic training services for all teams a. Monitors all Pre-Participation Physical Exam forms and provides summaries to coaches b. Contacts coaches on a regular basis for follow-ups on injured players c. Accommodates coaches that may request special services for their individual teams. 4. Responsible for the athletic training room a. Maintain room in an orderly fashion b. Post and enforce athletic training room rules with the student-athletes 5. Inventory, purchasing, and distribution of athletic training supplies a. Provides and stocks first aid kits for all coaches in season b. Collects all kits at the end of the season 6. Moderate Athletic Training Students: a. Supervise ND Student Athletic Training Aides 7. Assist with proper record keeping/documentation 8. Assists in arranging and scheduling all necessary medical personnel for athletic events such as football games. 9. Assumes other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer or Athletic Directors 10. Attends all meetings required by Athletic Department personnel Qualifications: 1. Be NATA-BOC certified and be in good standing with the NATA. 2. Maintain current certification in American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Professionals 3.
