Granada Hills Charter, the largest charter school in the nation, is an independent public school in the San Fernando Valley. A fiscally independent conversion charter school that opened in 2003, Granada Hills Charter has a current student enrollment of approximately 4,750 in its high school program and 1,300 students enrolled in its TK-8 program that opened in 2019. Requirements / Qualifications
• Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing services in the field of social work or a Health Services Credential with authorization as a psychiatric social worker. • Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in California • Facility in oral and written communication in English • Skill in the various modes of school social work with emphasis on evidence based practices, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, and community organization • Appropriate manner including poise, tact, good judgment, and ability to work effectively with school personnel, community representatives, parents and students. • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills including collaborative problem solving, decision-making and working with diverse populations

The School Social Worker provides crisis intervention to students in acute emotional and/or mental distress. S/he links students and families with relevant community resources and participates in the solving of complex socio-emotional problems. The position has an assigned differential that makes this an eight-hour on-site position. The differential supports planning/supervision of evening and weekend events as determined by the supervising administrative director. In addition, this position may include additional workdays (beyond the 182-day contract year) as determined by the supervising administrative director.
