The Black Student Achievement Plan (BSAP) Psychiatric Social Worker (PSW) provides mental health consultation and education services and support under the direction of the Director, SHHS BSAP. These services focus on addressesing critical incidents and issues impacting youth, with the goal of improving the mental health, well-being and academic achievement of students participating in BSAP through mental health assessment, promotion, and education. The BSAP PSW identifies school, personal, and community factors related to racial equity and social emotional wellness that may affect a student’s learning; and provides consultation to school staff and/or District support staff regarding intervention strategies including but not limited to: counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and resource linkage. This position will provide services and maintain documentation in alignment with Medi-Cal Reimbursement requirements, including guidelines and protocols under School Mental Health’s existing LA County Department of Mental Health (LAC- DMH) contract, therefore selected personnel must be registered as Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASW) or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
