The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. Job Summary
OCDE's Continuous Improvement Unit of the Educational Services Division administers the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC). The ELPAC is the required state test for English language proficiency (ELP) that must be delivered to students identified as English-learners. The Continuous Improvement Unit is currently recruiting for several talented individuals to work Testing Proctors for the English Language Proficiency Assessment in a short-term capacity. Those selected will assist with administering the Summative ELPAC to English-learners in TK through 12th grade during Spring of the 2020/2021 school year. This position will administer testing via distance-administration or in-person with safety protocols in place.
Requirements / Qualifications
Proof of an Associates degree or higher from an accredited institution; OR proof that you passed the CBEST. State law requires the Proctors to be a proficient speaker of English, with complete command of pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and ability to pronounce the full range of American English phonemes.
$20 per hour. 15 - 40 hours per week. (Not to exceed 175 days.) Position available through June 30, 2021 with possible funding to continue into 2021/22 fiscal year. Not eligible for OCDE benefits.
