Job Summary

*This position will start at $17.00/hr. There are two open morning positions at 20-25 hours per week, one on our Upland Campus and one on our Fontana Campus. Responsibilities include supervising and interacting with children in a Christian school environment. Help maintain a positive, safe and developmentally appropriate class setting in accordance with all relevant laws, policies and procedures. May involve potty training and diapering. Must have a heart for ministry to children and implementing the core values of Water of Life Community Church. Have an understanding of Bible stories and a willingness to be trained in telling stories in a fun and exciting manner. Assist with maintaining an age appropriate learning environment in the classroom. Read to class and individual children. Assist students with restroom needs and personal cleanliness. Supervise playground: interacts with children during outdoor play and observes with an eye for possible safety hazards. Enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order. Know and follow all safety procedures. Know and follow Department of Social Services licensing rules. Fill out accident and injury reports. Maintains good parental relationships and promotes WOLPS and church-related activities. Observe children's performance, behavior, social development, physical and spiritual health and confer with Preschool Teacher. Use skills to contribute to overall operations. Attend professional development in-service days to meet state licensing requirements. Attends special events (Open House, parent conferences, etc.), as assigned. Report any suspected safety or health hazards to Director for correction. Make suggestions for improvement. Twelve (12) Early Childhood Development college units Core Classes - CD Growth & Development, CD Child/Family/Community, CD Curriculum or Principles/Practices One (1) year experience working with children ages 3-5 in a group setting preferred Satisfactory "Live scan" fingerprint and child abuse index clearance by the DOJ Current CPR and First Aid Training Current physical with a TB test; current Tdap, MMR and Influenza vaccinations Basic knowledge in office technology tools (web-based, MS Office, etc.); intermediate knowledge preferred Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds Demonstrated passion for children and their care and development Flexible, positive attitude Aspire to be a Christian role model in accordance with 1 Timothy, chapter 3 Maintain a consistent relationship with God, demonstrate a strong and growing walk with Christ and live a Biblical lifestyle that honors Christ Be personally committed to the ideals, values and mission of WOL Be a regular tither to WOL or your home church Ability to appropriately handle confidential information; refraining from gossip Ability to resolve issues according to Matthew 18 Be/become a member at either Water of Life or a church with a similar Statement of Faith, and regularly attend its weekend services
