The Dorris-Eaton Preschool opens the door to the world of learning with strong instructional principles and a proven record. We see preschool as a prime time to build on a child’s fascination with the world and to develop a strong academic and social/emotional foundation for a successful educational journey. General Job Description The director is responsible for mentoring and collaborating with a team of professional teachers to create a unique and engaging educational experience; nurturing the emotional and social development of each child; ensuring the campus is safe and well maintained; and complying with the regulations of Community Care Licensing.
Requirements / Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have one of the following: • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree from an accredited or approved college or university with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; at least 3 years of teaching experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable educational setting; three semester units or equivalent quarter units in administration or staff relations; and experience in a leadership role; or • Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, including three semester units in administration or staff relations; at least 3 years of teaching experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable educational setting; and experience in a leadership role.
