Providence seeks a full-time teacher for Middle School science and Upper School biology to come alongside a teaching team that is passionate about nurturing a vibrant faith-filled learning community. The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience in the secondary-school science classroom and a strong desire to learn and grow alongside an experienced team of teachers. A teaching credential is preferred but not required if he or she already has sufficient experience in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to teach high-quality lessons and also to articulate a well-formed Christian perspective on various matters of science and faith. He or she will have a strong desire to challenge students in their academic learning and disciple them in their Christian faith. Additional duties may include discipleship groups, class retreats, delivering chapel messages, lunch and break supervision, and other similar activities. Additional opportunities to participate in aspects of the Providence community include athletics coaching, academic coaching, outdoor education and fitness, teaching special electives, assisting with the Providence Engineering Academy, and more. These other assignments would be agreed upon based on the candidate’s experience and interests.
