One of the current positions we are attempting to fill is a teaching position at our elementary/middle school site and the other is a position at our high school site. Each teacher will have a maximum of 14 students at any given time. Slauson Learning Center (SLC) is a private, non-public school. Our elementary/middle school site contains 5 classrooms, and our high school site contains 3 classrooms and each services a maximum of 14 students. Our small size and low student to staff ratios allow us to give proper attention and focus to our students. We strive to maintain an intimate, family like atmosphere and great staff camaraderie. The responsibilities and purpose of this job: teach a self-contained combination class. Each teacher will be provided with 2-3 highly qualified teacher assistants. The students have one of the following eligibilities; Emotionally Disturbed, Other Health Impairment or Severe Learning Disabled. Our teachers are compensated with a competitive salary and health and dental benefits are included. This is a full time job and the hours of the work day are 7:45am-2:45pm. Slauson Learning Center has been in operation for 35 years. We are in high standing with LAUSD, the state of California and many of the smaller school districts in the LA area.
