About the Employer

With schools dating back to the 1870s, the award-winning Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) is now the 16th largest school district in California. RUSD educates nearly 42,000 students across 50 schools in Riverside. The District serves a large portion of Riverside as well as the unincorporated areas of Highgrove and Woodcrest. RUSD is led by its 13th Superintendent, Dr. Sonia Llamas and is governed by a Board of Education comprised of publicly elected officials who serve five different trustee areas.

Requirements / Qualifications

Under the direction of the Superintendent, serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Business Official (CBO) of the District; serve as primary liaison with other governmental entities affecting the school district; arrange supplementary financial of district activities to adequately support the educational programs of the District; oversee various business aspects of the District; coordinate activities with Federal, State County and City Legislators, and with the other elected and appointed officials to protect and further the interest of the District. • Accounting and financial record keeping • Public Finance • Management principles and practices • Internal controls, audit procedures and practices, and legislative processes • California Education Code and the School Accounting Manual Ability to: • Communicate with elected board officials, senior district staff, parents and community leaders and appointed representatives, bargaining unit officials to represent the financial interests of the district in meeting educational goals.

Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Finance, Law, or a related field and five years' experience in management position in the school business administration field.
