Job Summary
Migrant Education is a federally funded program authorized through the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 designed to provide supplementary educational and support services to identified migrant students. The Migrant Education Program Region IX is administered through the San Diego County Office of Education and serves students in Orange and San Diego Counties. Migrant Education, Region IX, is a supplemental educational program that provides support services through collaborating with school districts and other community agencies to maximize the potential of migrant students. Working closely with parents, each district designs its own plan of services to provide the most effective program possible for students to ensure equitable opportunities and increase graduation rates.
Requirements / Qualifications
The San Diego County Office of Education is currently looking to add to the limited-term pool for the classification of Teacher, Migrant Education.
The Teacher, Migrant Education, under the direction of an assigned administrator, is responsible for providing assistance in the coordination of instruction and development of supplemental instructional programs for students participating in the Migrant Education Program in an elementary and/or secondary educational setting..
This position requires the following:
EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years of classroom teaching experience.
- Experience working with migrant student population, agencies and/or services for migrant families preferred.
- English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must hold the following:
- A valid California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential; and,
- A valid California English Learner (EL) Authorization or Cross-cultural Language, Academic Development (CLAD) certificate or equivalent document
