POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Speech/Language Pathology Assistant is done for the purpose(s) of assisting in the instruction or supervision of speech-language impaired students primarily in the classroom settings (preschool, K-12 and adult); providing communication support; assisting students, teachers and parents in communicating and serving as a resource to other school personnel requiring assistance with speech/language impaired persons. *Note: this is an itinerant position which services multiple school sites and works with hearing impaired students.* REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Job related experience is required. Minimum of one year of experience in speech/language or special education related areas. REQUIRED EDUCATION: -High school diploma or equivalent and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license required based on experience and/or coursework. -Six hours of professional growth annually (i.e., state or regional conferences, workshops, formal in-service presentations, independent study programs, related coursework, or any combination of these concerning communication and related disorders).
