Job Summary

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY Serve as the instructional leader, facilitator and chief executive of DeLaveaga Elementary; lead the instructional programs and operations of the school plan, facilitate student activities and professional growth of the site staff; guide and implement the educational and administrative programs of DeLaveaga Elementary according to the policies and goals established by the Board of Education; assign duties and responsibilities to staff members to ensure that educational services and activities meet students’ needs; engage and build relationships with the community, parents, students and partner schools within the district. And most importantly, work in collaboration with the DeLaveaga staff to continue to make the school a great place to learn and work.    QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have a valid California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility, will have five years of successful elementary teaching, a minimum of one year administrative experience, bilingual (Spanish) and bi-cultural preferred and possess a Master's degree in Education or related field.

DeLaveaga Elementary School's highly skilled and dedicated teachers are committed to supporting all 515 students with an engaging and rigorous curriculum. In addition to our strong academic program, DeLaveaga students participate in Life Lab, music, art and biweekly lessons provided by our library media teacher. DeLaveaga hosts a dual immersion program that provides students the opportunity to learn in two languages from kindergarten through 5th grade. Students in our program develop bilingualism and biliteracy in English and Spanish. Our program fosters a positive multicultural understanding that promotes respect, inclusion, and service to the community.
