Job Summary
Area Teachers are full time instructional teachers that support whichever specific charter needs instructional support. This role will be through the 2021 School year. The Primary responsibility of this position is to teach our students with a personalized learning plan, making adjustments to match the students’ ability levels and pace of learning. An Area Teacher provides direct instructional support 100% of the time. This position will be available to provide direct instruction to students 6 hours a day. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:* Provides instruction to students for a specific charter. Administers and grades tests. Tutors students that need help as requested by the teacher of record. Supports all state testing by calling, proctoring and helping. Locates, prepares, passes out and helps with curriculum. Supports CHASEE preparations with students. Helps audit and correct student files when requested. Enter student work into student information system. Helps with other activities within the center that supports the direct instruction of students. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to connect with students and motivate them in a positive way. Ability to communicate with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality. Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment, in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision. Ability to teach and delegate responsibility to students. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell.
