About CS4NorCal: CS4NorCal is a 5-year regional research and innovation project sponsored by the SSDA to create K-12 computer science pathways in small rural schools in 6 northern California counties: Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta and Siskiyou. Through 2024-2025, CS4NorCal is an opportunity for education leaders from county offices of education, districts and schools to investigate and design implementation models to integrate the 2018 state CS standards into their educational programs and provide students with access to one of the core subjects of a “well-rounded” education. Interested parties are invited to apply for the Superintendent position at Columbia Union School District in Columbia, CA. Founded in the 1880s as a one-room schoolhouse located in historic Columbia State Park, Columbia Union School District (CUSD) is a one-school elementary district serving about 500 students in grades kindergarten through eight. Student demographics include 70% Caucasian, 18% Latino, 3% Native American and 1% African American. The student population encompasses 61.7% low income, 8.2% homeless/foster youth, and 1.6% English learners. CUSD services its students with 23 certified staff, 32 classified staff and two administrators.
Located two miles north of Sonora in the gold country of the Sierra Nevada Foothills, Columbia Elementary School relocated in 1936 when a new school building was constructed on Parrotts Ferry Road. Over the years the campus has expanded to meet the needs of the growing district. In 2007, the district completed construction of 19 state of the art classrooms and an Education, Sports and Performing Arts Complex.
Columbia Elementary focuses on the success of the whole child. The parents, staff, and students focus on creating unique learning opportunities to ensure students leave our school ready for high school and beyond.
Columbia Elementary enjoys the support of our parents and community members. The community surrounding the school is made up of a variety of businesses and private homes. Columbia Elementary’s campus is large and generally spread out. The students have modern facilities and access to technology in their classrooms.

Credentials:
- Master's degree or higher.
- Valid California Administrative credential.
- Superintendent, building principal, central office, or state leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years experience at the Principal level or equivalent.
