LAUSD anticipates hiring a Director of Benefits Administration who is well versed in Benefits administration, with a solid and broad understanding of benefits and retirement programs from a government, public or non-profit agency. The ideal candidate for this position possesses a solid professional record of benefits administration knowledge and experience implementing best practices, trends, and solutions to industry-wide challenges impacting public sector agencies. He/she will have: *Expertise in business process analysis to define, assess and improve branch-wide operational processes, workflow and to the benefits administration processes meet customer needs. *Strong staff management ability and an experienced relationship builder who has demonstrated the ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, including various vendors, unions, committees and District employees and leaders. *An open and approachable manner and easily build rapport with other parties, regardless of differences in background, and organizational level. Effective communication written and verbal, and the ability to explain complex issues to others. *And importantly, he/she will be professionally resilient and maintains their composure and professionalism and can thrive in a “high-demand” complex work environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS Please note that the "Minimum Entrance Qualifications" for both Education and Experience, must be met in order to move forward in our selection process. Education: Graduation* from a recognized college or university, preferably with a major in human resources, school business management, business or public administration, or a related field. Professional benefits certifications are preferable. Experience: Four (4) years of experience managing the implementation or administration of a health and welfare benefit and retirement program.
