Welcome to the Santa Maria-Bonita School District website. We are the largest school district in Santa Barbara County with about 17,500 pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. Job Description / Essential Elements:

MIXTECO/ENGLISH INTERPRETER
HOURLY RATE: $20.38 per hour
HOURS: On-call
POSITION: Mixteco/English Interpreter will primarily work interpreting between school personnel and Mixteco speaking families. Please indicate on your application if you speak Mixteco Alto or baja, or if you speak any other dialect.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be fluent in Mixteco and English.
PRIOR TO HIRE: Prior to start in a position, the District will 1) obtain verification of freedom from tuberculosis. 2) Fingerprint you for processing by State and Federal agencies.
SELECTION PROCESS: The applications are reviewed to determine those candidates who meet position qualifications. Those candidates who meet position qualifications will be invited to test. Those qualified applicants who have a test score of 70% or above are placed on an eligibility list for interview.
