About the District: Roseland Public Schools is located in the heart of beautiful Sonoma County. Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Superintendent, the CBO provides financial and business leadership/administration and establishes related strategic direction; plans, organizes, directs the fiscal and business operations of the Roseland School District (District) and Roseland Charter School (Charter); interprets, disseminates, implements related laws, rules, policies and regulations; directs, supervises, evaluates business office staff; evaluate and update business office procedures and processes to continually improve operational efficiency. Distinguishing Characteristics: This is a single position classification that is responsible for both the District’s and Charter’s fiscal affairs, budgets and business administration. The CBO represents and is responsible for both the District’s and Charter’s financial interests equally in day-to-day business operations for short-term and long-term financial planning. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment and is in a position of trust and confidence.

Typical ways to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • BA/BS degree from an accredited college with major in accounting, business administration, public administration, or related field and at least two years of proven successful experience in an increasingly responsible management position directly related to public school finance/business or • Successful completion of a California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO), Fiscal Crisis & Management Assistance Team (FCMAT), or School Services of California (SSC) CBO certification program which included coursework in public school finance, school law, school business administration, school personnel, school operations and at least three years of proven successful experience in an increasingly responsible management position directly related to public school finance/business or • At least five years of proven successful experience in an increasingly responsible management position directly related to public school finance/business
