The Coordinator, School Nursing, is responsible for providing countywide nursing leadership, consultation, and direction for the implementation and development of coordinated school health programs.
Requirements / Qualifications
The San Diego County Office of Education is conducting a promotional-only recruitment to fill a vacancy for a Coordinator, School Nursing in the Student Services and Programs Division. The Coordinator, School Nursing will collaborate with school district, local health care providers, and other county agencies to promoted health care services for students and their families, compile and analyze data to develop protocols and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and develop and deliver professional growth opportunities for local school nurses and other staff. In addition, the Coordinator will serve on the Emergency Operations Committee to respond to emergencies and pandemics, and collaborate with SDCOE departments on assigned projects related to employee health and wellness. This position requires a valid CA Registered Nurse license AND a valid CA School Nurse Services credential. In addition, this position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a master's degree in nursing or a related field and five (5) years experience with pediatric nursing, including two (2) years experience in a leadership role providing health services. Experience with elementary, secondary, and special education student populations preferred.
