Requirements / Qualifications
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The purpose of Permit Teacher, Head Start, is for the purpose/s of facilitating preschool student success in developmental and interpersonal skills by implementing curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of preschool students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. EXPERIENCE: Completion of 175 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program; working at least three hours per day within the last four years is required and must be verified. (This experience may include paid and/or volunteer work.) EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. A Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is preferred. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: •Possession of a valid California Children’s Center/Child Development Teacher Permit authorizing instruction in a child development center program (Refer to Commission on Teacher Credentialing pamphlet for Child Development Teacher Permit) Please Note: ***TO BE CONSIDERED, ALL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE TARGET SUCCESS TEACHER SKETCH SURVEY BEFORE DEADLINE DATE.
