Job Summary
Project Director I - Human Trafficking Youth Prevention Education (HTYPE) Demonstration Program provides overall vision, external representation, and management of the HTYPE Demonstration Program. The Project Director I leads the continued growth of the human trafficking prevention portfolio in selected school districts, while positioning the organization to expand its programs throughout Los Angeles County and potentially statewide. The Project Director I will work closely with non-profit partners, the Board of Supervisors, county community agencies, and law enforcement agencies, and other internal LACOE departments to publicly represent HTYPE while ensuring strict adherence to ethical, survivor-centered, and trauma-informed principles. The Project Director I will have substantive programmatic experience and in-depth knowledge of human trafficking prevention education. The Project Director I cultivates high-value relationships with a wide variety of external stakeholders in Los Angeles and beyond, including the Office of the District Attorney, Board of Supervisors, individual philanthropists, the business community, and foundations. The Project Director I will also participate in advocacy work and represent LACOE’s HTYPE Program at various anti-trafficking committees and coalitions, ensuring that LACOE’s HTYPE profile and reputation is enhanced within the global anti-human trafficking community. The Project Director I also oversees the design and implementation of high-quality human trafficking and prevention programming and the development of a new Human Trafficking School Safety Plan. Under administrative direction, the Project Director I makes decisions of critical consequence, impacting daily operations of a school district/charter organization, and the implementation and revision of established policies and procedures; may provide technical and functional supervision of professional, technical, and clerical personnel; meets most frequently with Superintend

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience that would be likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: • 10+ years of professional experience with 6 years of experience in human trafficking and/or other programs focused on social services, human rights, or gender-based violence Education: • Master’s degree in social work, gender studies, human rights, criminal justice, public health, or other relevant social science discipline LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (must attach credential with document number): Possess and maintain a valid California Administrative Services Credential. A valid K-12 California Teaching or Pupil Personnel Services Credential is desirable.
