Death Valley USD is a tiny school district that serves the very small communities in and to the southeast of Death Valley National Park. There are fewer than 30 students (K-12) enrolled in the entire district. The district office and main school site are located in Shoshone, CA. Currently, most students are not attending on campus due to the pandemic. Reliable cell and internet services are not a given in this area of the desert. Thus, distance learning in DVUSD consists largely of sending materials home twice a week and some use of Google Docs and email for the upper grade levels. This is a very different type of school year than ever before. Thus, current faculty openings in DVUSD do not follow normal descriptors or credential areas. That said, Special Ed. and Multiple Subject teachers with an interest in a small and unique educational environment are encouraged to apply. Note: many employees of DVUSD find a place to live in Pahrump, Nevada.
