Position Summary
Cosumnes River College looks to a dynamic individual who can lead the implementation of the Title V Developing Hispanic Serving Institution Grant. With the guidance of the President of Cosumnes River College, and under the supervision of the Vice President of Instruction and Student Learning, the Title V HSI Grant Project Director VII is responsible for the successful fiscal, operational, and compliance administration of the federal Title V Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) grant. The MI CASA Project provides Hispanic and low-income students opportunities to enroll smoothly in college, stay in college, and graduate/transfer in a timely manner.
The Project ensures on-going success through four interrelated goals: 1) Creating an infrastructure to increase retention, degree/certificate completion and transfer; 2) Providing specific incentives and support to help students enroll, stay enrolled, and complete college on-time; 3) Designing an infrastructure and physical space to facilitate faculty and staff professional development in culturally responsive curriculum, teaching, and student services, and to build community with students (the MI CASA Center); 4) Building the infrastructure to assure students develop the specific knowledge and skills needed for a strong economic future, and the knowledge and skills that will lead to success in further education and on the job. This is a five-year grant-funded position, renewable on a yearly basis.
Special Requirements
Two years’ experience in grants management and/or project management, leadership and supervision; experience in advising, counseling, teaching, or student services to effectively lead and manage this project.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Have a master’s degree* in education, counseling, student personnel or related field from an accredited institution. completed by January 4, 2021. All degrees must be from an accredited institution.
2. Have two years of formal training, internship, or leadership experience.
3. An equity-minded focus, clear evidence of responsiveness, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as they relate to differences in learning styles. Demonstrated ability to successfully foster and support an inclusive educational for Hispanic and low-income students.
