The duties and responsibilities of the Elementary School Principal include, but are not limited to:
Providing leadership for and administering the instructional program of the school;
developing, planning and implementing goals and objectives;
recommending and administering policies and procedures;
directing and overseeing the development and implementation of the school’s Instructional Improvement Plan/Single Plan for Student Achievement;
coordinating school activities with those of other schools and outside agencies and organizations;
establishing and monitoring procedures for reporting pupil progress to parents and appropriate school district offices;
supervising and participating in the development and administration of the school budget;
determining the need for additional staffing, equipment, materials and/or supplies;
visiting classrooms on a regular basis to observe student/teacher behavior
overseeing the safety and maintenance of the building and school grounds;
preparing and presenting staff reports;
selecting, training, and supervising assigned certificated and classified staff;
developing and implementing discipline procedures related to student behavior;
developing and maintaining cooperative relationships with parents, community organizations and the community; and
other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid California Administrative Credential or the equivalent; Master's degree; Demonstrated leadership capabilities in working with students, teachers and citizens within a community.
