About the Employer

SMCNS has been nurturing human growth for over 70 years. Our philosophy is that child development is an unfolding, a coming into being one step at a time--at the right time. We believe that all humans--including adults, are always learning and growing. We learn best about ourselves, each other, and the natural world by fostering our intrinsic curiosity. We believe young children have the best opportunity to flourish when parents and professional educators work together to support their physical, intellectual, social and emotional evolution. Our intention is to mentor parents as teachers and caregivers who will continue to foster their child’s development and education long after they leave the supportive community of our nursery school.
