Hold or Qualify for a California Career Technical Education (CTE): Public Safety Teaching Credential with English Learner Authorizing Law Enforcement Instruction for 9th-12th grade students. (Law Enforcement Experience and Education will qualify with commitment to complete 2 year online program)

PROGRAM/COURSE DESCRIPTION: Public Safety Service – To prepare students with an understanding of the criminal justice system, regulatory agencies, and laws and regulations. Emphasis on security operations, emergency procedures, public relations, telecommunication systems, report writing, and career opportunities. Intro to Criminal Justice (CJ) - To give qualified students interested in a career in law enforcement an opportunity to learn about police work including patrol procedures, ethics, vehicle codes, communication systems, clerical procedures, physical training, safey, narcotics, gang awareness, penal codes, criminal law, special teams and constitutional amendments including rules of arrest, search and seizure. Procedures in CJ System - To provide theory and hands-on experience in the skills and knowledge required in the field of forensic science, including: Intro to crime scene investigations, crime scene photograpy and diagrams as they are used in a criminal investigation. Emphasis on effective communication and interpersonal skills, professional development, strong academic skills, problem solving, safety and the use of technology.
