The Santa Barbara County Education Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Software Engineer in the Information Technology Services department. General description: You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing computer software systems; providing systems integration services; implementing and monitoring security and performance of hardware and software on mission-critical financial management information system. Role requires senior level systems and database administration, performing the most complex activities within the scope of the department. Incumbent has broad architectural responsibilities, typically specializes in overlapping technology platforms, and may lead multiple projects while administering production system applications, infrastructure and databases.
Requirements / Qualifications
Knowledge of the following preferred: • Hyper-V Virtualization (Nutanix a plus) • Windows 2012 R2 Datacenter through Windows 2019 Datacenter • Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 7.15+ (now called Citrix Virtual Apps and Citrix Virtual Desktops) • MS SQL 2014 Enterprise through MS SQL 2019 Enterprise clusters • Load Balancers • Application servers • IIS applications • File servers • Virus scanning • Active Directory • Storage Area Networking (SAN) • Network Attached Storage (NAS) • Recent trends in software development, maintenance and enhancements, including web-based technologies and object-oriented development methodologies • Principles of enterprise business systems; analysis, design, build, test, and deploy • Transact-SQL • .NET C# • ASP.NET • Crystal Reports Qualifications: Any combination of degree and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, accounting or finance preferred, and five years increasingly responsible experience designing, developing, programming and maintaining automated business systems.
