Job Summary
The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting Village Christian School students to and from assigned routes, athletic events, and field trips. This position ensures student safety while operating school buses in compliance with all state laws, Department of Transportation regulations, and school policies. The Bus Driver maintains high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and safety while supporting the mission and values of Village Christian School.
Requirements / Qualifications
Applicants must possess and maintain the following credentials at the time of application: Valid Commercial California Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger, air brakes, and school bus endorsements Valid and current DL-51 Medical Certificate Valid and current California Special Driver Certificate Valid American Red Cross First Aid card All required training hours completed and up to date Must be at least 25 years of age Candidates must demonstrate safe driving practices, strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently. Compliance with random alcohol and drug testing requirements is mandatory.
Applicants must submit a completed employment application and resume reflecting driving experience and qualifications. Upon hire, employees must provide documentation verifying authorization to work in the United States (I-9), complete required background checks and Live Scan fingerprinting, and provide copies of all required licenses and certifications. Additional documentation such as TB clearance and a signed faith statement may be required in accordance with school policy and state regulations.

The position requires strong safety awareness, punctuality, independent judgment, and alignment with the mission of Village Christian School.
This is a part-time position with varied hours per week. Both Regular and Substitute Bus Drivers are being considered.
