Job Summary
Serve as a personal secretary and office management aide to the principal. File, compose school bulletins and other correspondence. Coordinate bell and other school schedules. Maintain and coordinate inventory of school supplies. Act as school receptionist by greeting visitors and handling telephone inquiries. Assist parents in enrollment and check-out procedures. Administer first aid, prescription medicine, and assist in maintaining immunization records. Supervise students sent to the office and any student aides. Assist in scheduling of school facilities. Review and screen incoming correspondence and communications. Perform other duties as required.

To perform specialized and routine clerical, secretarial and administrative aide functions in an elementary or middle school setting. Must be organized; have strong people skills; excellent English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation; and have strong computer skills. Have the ability to undertake and complete diverse office tasks, compose correspondence independently; establish and maintain accurate files and records; follow written and oral instructions; type or keyboard at 60 wpm; operate computers and utilize application software; communicate and work cooperatively with others; maintain an appearance and personality which establishes a desirable example for pupils; ability to be flexible and adaptable; and use initiative, resourcefulness and good judgement.
