Ability to: Tutor individual and small groups of students in academic subjects, and other assigned instructional areas. Provide support and assistance to a teacher. Answer questions and assist students in a variety of academic subjects. Utilize behavior management techniques according to established guidelines.

Instructional Assistant
Under the immediate supervision of a classroom teacher and school administrator, provides instructional, behavioral and clerical support in any one grade level or combination of 1st through 5th grade classrooms.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Orients and provides instructional assistance to individuals or small groups of students.
Assists teachers with planning and implementing a program of instruction that is consistent with the school’s philosophy, goals and objectives.
Assists teachers in creating purposeful and appropriate lesson plans designed to meet the individual needs of students.
Assists students in locating and using educational materials and equipment, such as computers. Tutors individuals and small groups of students in various subject areas.
Assists with creating a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing effective pedagogical and behavioral supports.
Monitors and assesses student progress through observations and formative assessments.
Shares responsibility during the school day for supervision of all students in all areas of the school. May include recess and/or lunch duty.
Monitors student pick-up and drop-off locations as needed.
Provides supervision and appropriate conflict diffusion strategies of students when circumstances require a brief absence from the classroom.
Provides support for students exhibiting behavioral challenges.
Operates audiovisual and other multimedia equipment. Administers tests to students and posts test results.
Scores papers and posts scores to student records. Supervises and performs clean-up activities.
Performs related duties as required.
Requirements / Qualifications

The teaching assistant will assist the classroom teacher by working with students with virtual learning. Candidates must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with children and adults, to be self-directed, and to adjust instruction to meet the learning needs of the students. The ideal candidate loves working with young children, is able to be flexible on a daily basis, has a high level of initiative, and enjoys working in a team environment. Excellent English skills required (pronunciation, grammar, comprehension, etc. Candidate must be CPR/First-Aid certified within 60 days of employment.
Employees will work from 8AM to 11 AM Monday through Thursday. Mostly virtual work.
