Job Summary
The Pest Control Technician inspects, detects, evaluates, prevents, and conducts control work for structural and agricultural pests for the districts Integrated Pest Management program; educates district staff in understanding their role in Integrated Pest Management.

There is currently 1 (one) position available: •PPO Support Services, 8 hours per day, 12 months OSS Salary Grade: 040
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to high school diploma or equivalent and three years of recent, full-time paid experience in structural, gardening, or landscape pest control work; or an associate’s degree in biological or environmental health sciences and 1 year recent experience. Specific training in Integrated Pest Management programs is preferred. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California driver’s license Possession of a California Department of Food and Agriculture Qualified Applicator's Certificate (Category A and B) In lieu of the Qualified Applicator's Certificate, applicants must possess a Structural Pest Control License (Branch II or III) and be willing and able to successfully complete a California Department of Agriculture training course and obtain a Qualified Applicator's Certificate within one year of initial employment in this job class. Passing annual physicians physical examination and respirator fit test indicating clearance to wear a respirator while spraying pesticides and performing associated duties. NOTE: Incumbents are required to attend continuous education course hours as mandated by the State.
