Role: Technology Coordinator


Job Description: Full time, 10-month, technology teacher and coordinator position for the 2020-2021 school year starting immediately.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and teach technology-integrated lessons and computer science skills for all grade levels (K-6).

  • Provide technology professional development for staff on current technology tools and best practices in technology education.

  • Collaborate with teachers to develop technology-integrated lessons for our core subjects (ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science) and ancillary subjects (Art, Music, PE, Spanish, and Hands-On Science).

  • Attend professional development to keep current with best practices in technology education.

  • Provide ongoing technology support - update devices through server management program, add/delete apps for teachers,  provide ongoing technology support, especially during hybrid/remote learning. (Platforms: Google Classroom, G Suite, educational iOS apps, Mac/iOS devices). 


Skills and Qualifications:


  • Proficient experience with iOS, iPads and Mac devices, G Suite (Google Classroom, Drive, Google apps, etc.) 

  • Proficient experience teaching computer science skills: digital citizenship, keyboarding, word processing, graphic design, coding, multimedia, media literacy, and design thinking/engineering.

  • Strong instructional and classroom management.

  • Familiarity with common technology software and apps appropriate for the elementary years and capable of curating them for effectiveness and grade-level appropriateness

  • Familiarity with the ISTE Standards for Students and Educators.

  • Experience teaching primary grade levels.

  • Experience working collaboratively within teams.

 

Additional Roles (or adjunct duties for hire): 

 

Social Media/Newsletter

  • Platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Constant Contact.

  • Post quality photos and captions (aligned with the school brand and culture) to social media accounts.

  • Create clean and consistent graphics, find quality stock photos, and coordinate articles for newsletter bi-weekly with staff/parent reps.

  • Use Constant Contact to create and send newsletters and maintain contact lists for school-wide communication.  

 

My DMP

  • Current platform: Wordpress

  • Maintain teacher websites on whichever platform the school chooses. 

  • Post school videos, parent communication whenever needed. 

  • Provide support to help teachers with adding content, posting to their blog, etc. 

 

Diversity/No Place For Hate Coordinator

  • Collaborate with ADL on No Place for Hate.

  • Lead PD for teachers and provide PD recommendations for specific interest areas. 

  • Provide parent outreach, host parent coffees and book talks. 

  • Coordinate special events (multicultural day, mix it up at lunch, read across America, walk against hate).

  • Lead student leadership/NPFH committee.
