Ref: 7093 BASIC FUNCTION: Perform skilled journey-level electrical work in the repair, alteration, construction, installation, and maintenance of electrical distribution centers, systems, and equipment. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to reflect the principal job elements accurately.) E = Essential Functions Install, repair, and service all voltage (0-600 volts) electrical distribution centers and related systems. E Inspect, repair, install, test, service, and maintain electrical systems, including conduit and duct systems, light and power circuits, motor appliances, generators, control equipment, switches, switchboards, fans, bells, buzzers, clocks, and fire alarm and intrusion systems; assure balanced load and clean electrical flow. E Install interior and exterior wiring and conduit for equipment and appliances; install, repair, and maintain telephone lines and systems, intercom, and public address systems. E Wire new construction, remodels and altered structures according to established safety standards. E Inspect and repair main distribution breakers on transformers and all voltage systems (0-600 volts). E Replace circuit breakers and panels. E Assemble, install, and maintain lighting fixtures, switches, and field lighting systems. E Plan, organize, and lay out assigned electrical tasks. E Install supplemental power supply to temporary and additional facilities and equipment as assigned. E Order, requisition, and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies, parts, and materials. E Work with all District employees, architecture and engineering employees, and outside contractors. E Oversee assigned personnel. E Perform related duties as assigned.
