The Berryessa Union School District is seeking applicants in the following area. The minimum qualifications and description of duties are listed below. Position descriptions are on file at the District Office and may be requested for additional duties and qualifications prior to completion of an application.
DUTIES: Assists in preparation, packaging and serving of meals and maintains high standards with emphasis on appetizing and appealing meals high in nutritive value; Maintains high standards of efficiency, sanitation and safety; Instructs and supervises student helpers where applicable; Works harmoniously with students, school personnel and public; Acts as cashier, completes and submits required reports; follows oral and written directions; Assists with inventory and maintenance of accurate records and performs moderately heavy manual tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or equivalent; valid California Driver’s License; Tuberculin Clearance; Safety and Sanitation course recommended. One year of food service experience desirable; Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures related to food preparation and serving; Knowledge of care and use of standard food service equipment, principles and methods of quantity food preparation, serving and storage; Ability to do cashier work and to complete required records; Knowledge of basic nutrition and its application in school meal programs; Ability to follow oral and written directions. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
