As the California Virtual Academies are public schools and this is a public school position, these are set contracted hours and you must be available/working during these hours while under contract with California Virtual Academies. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours.

Must live in 1 of the 42 counties of California that our schools service and hire in. Must be willing to travel as needed for trainings and/or meetings.

We service students and hire in most California counties, except the following 16 counties: Del Norte, Siskiyou, Modoc, Humboldt, Trinity, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Glenn, Plumas, Sierra, Nevada, Alpine, Tuolumne, Mariposa and El Dorado.

Requirements / Qualifications

ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES: The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to TK-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. K12, inc. is our curriculum provider. The Compass Engagement Coach supports the Onboarding of new students, including, but not limited to: o Host “Keeping Warm” sessions as needed to support and engage new families o Provide weekly email outreach to assigned onboarding students o Complete and log Welcome calls with new families as assigned o Ensuring all student, Learning Coach and parent accounts are active and working o Ensure Newrow is setup correctly o Host live orientation to virtual school sessions according to required Onboarding Timeline o Host help desks and proactively contact students and learning coaches HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: These are full time positions working Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. $15 per hour As the California Virtual Academies are public charter schools and this is a public school position, these are set contracted hours and you must be available/working during these hours while under contract with California Virtual Academies. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Full time employees are offered health, dental, and vision benefits. Benefits information is only given out upon offer. We do provide training for all programs and we have a great staff to serve as your support system. We do participate in CalPERS. Requirements/Experience: • Reside in the state of California • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge • Ability to support and guide adults, as well as students • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Organization and time-management skills • Excellent writing and grammar skills • Flexible schedule • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook, PowerPoint and experience using them in a professional capacity • Ability to work collaboratively on teams • Prior experience working with at-risk youth • Ability to relate to new and returning student needs and provide support Certificates and Licenses: Bachelor’s Degree (desired) ELIGIBILITY POOL: Our postings are eligibility pools for positions that may arise during the 2020-2021 school year, ONLY.
