Job Summary
The kitchen assistant position is responsible for assisting with meal preparation and basic food service support for students, faculty, staff, concession and events. This position requires the ability to exhibit excellent time management skills while working under strict timelines in a fast-paced environment. Hours will vary based upon scheduling needs. Prior food service experience and a Serve-Safe certificate is desired however, not required. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Including, but not limited to, reading, following and executing tasks in accordance with the specifications of the Food Service Director. Maintaining a safe and clean kitchen working environment and responsible for mopping and dishwashing on a daily basis. Assisting with receipt and stocking food deliveries. The duties of this position require the ability to stand for 95% of day (excluding breaks), walk, stoop, kneel, lift/push/pull cases of food weighing up to 50 pounds.
