Job Summary
Under the direction of the Coordinator, Support Services in the Special Education division, provides itinerant services for an adapted physical education (APE) assessment which includes student observation, records review, interview and standardized and non-standardized testing in areas of suspected disability. Writes the assessment report according to specified guidelines and develop short-term and long-term goals and objectives for the Individualized Education Program (IEP). Acts as a liaison between the school district and other agencies to coordinate services for students.This is an itinerant position based out of Bakersfield, CA.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education/Credentials: -Must hold proper Physical Education Credential with Adapted PE Authorization Certificate. -Master's Degree is preferred. -Possess or secure within three (3) months of employment a certificate for first aid and CPR issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent. Experience: -Successful experience in the area of physical education or special education preferred. Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver’s license and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
